THANK YOU
May I express my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to my splendid gift of over £200 to mark my retirement as church treasurer after completing ten years in that post. It was good to see so many friends at the presentation at the A.P.C.M. Jackie joins me in giving thanks - she was delighted with her lovely flowers.

I'm not talking politics when I say "It's a wonderful world". As I write this, there is a general state of euphoria: following a royal wedding, Norwich City soundly beating Manchester United, local lad Jon Thaxton becoming a boxing world champion ...................................... and the restoration of my web site! It's no secret that I am an optimist, seeing a glass as half full, rather than half empty. Despite the bad news we hear too often, remember anther song title: "Always look on the bright side of life".
The next meeting of the Norwich & District Branch of Diabetes UK will be held @ 7.30 pm on Monday, May 23rd at the Vauxhall Centre, Norwich. Note the new venue. Raffle & refreshments - friends welcome. There will be an illustrated talk by Carrie Gray, “Walking for Health“. For further information, please contact Maggie Flatman, chairman, on 01603 783091.
Here are some quotations which I think appropriate for the above theme; I hope you do as well.

"Disappointment is simply a dream that doesn’t want to become a reality." - Richard Wilkins

JUNE 2005
I'm still reeling with grateful pleasure at the totally unexpected gift received at the APCM. There have been favourable comments on the photo in last month's magazine - I'd be pleased to adopt a suggestion that I autograph readers' copies in return for donations to the Organ Fund!
An early warning - after many years as a loyal distributor, Mrs Bingham will finish in that post next year. We are grateful to her for her service but will have to find replacement/s for a round which comprises 4 copies in South Hill Close and 4 in Acacia Road.
This month's gathering of the Norwich branch of Diabetes UK will take the form of a walk on Monday, June 20th at 7 pm from the "Adam & Eve" public house in Bishopsgate, Norwich, followed by a barbecue.
I'll finish with some more quotations to ponder on - I do!
Thank you.
